The Shared Ride Program is a service provided to all PA residents who are 65 years of age or older. Funding for this program is made available through the Pennsylvania State Lottery. This service is designed to offer transportation service at a reduced rate as long as the service is provided on a shared, cost-effective basis. Since it is a shared-ride service, we are permitted to try to consolidate trips between customers’ origins and destinations as much as possible.

  

Since 1980, Bux-Mont Transportation has been there for senior citizens.  Since the inception, Bux-Mont Transportation has offered senior citizens this program. Despite being a curb-to-curb service, the Shared Ride Program does not provide “taxi” service and is NOT a non-stop ride for one person. Different riders are grouped together depending upon their travel time and location(s).

There are many individual services within Bux-Mont Transportation's Shared Ride Program. Each of these is governed with a different set of regulations, funding sources, reporting standards and service delivery guidelines.
